Royal Wedding Fever Pitch!!

Well I never thought Royal Wedding fever would particularly affect the little old CakeyBake shop!! How wrong I was - yesterday saw a ridiculous amount of orders coming in for my red, white and blue heart cupcake toppers... So, whilst everyone else was enjoying the sunshine I was packaging up boxes of cake toppers so I could get them all posted this morning!  It's really nice to think of all those parties out there with my little hearts all over their cakes!!  So, now that mayhem is over, I'm starting to think of new ideas for the coming months - I have a feeling stars will be back on everyone's agenda so I'm designing some lovely cut-out versions and will be launching some new packs in the coming weeks...  Ebay change their shop layouts in May - I'm looking forward to their new 'shopping basket' and some other features that will make it easier both for shoppers and for me!

We're now stocking some brilliant Wilton Cookie Cutters and also a perfect Circle Cookie Cutter which cuts out perfect fondant circles for topping cupcakes (there's always a way to bring the conversation back to cupcakes!!)  Have a look at what we've got and feel free to get in touch if you have any ideas!!

Hello Again!

Very exciting times for me as I am finally expanding my little eBay shop to sell cupcake equipment and cookie cutters.  I'm now feverishly making cookies (any excuse really!) to take some lovely photos to put on the site... In the mean time, I've just posted the first of many fantastic nozzles - the Wilton 1M Star Tip...

Anyone who knows a thing or two about cupcakes will know that this is possibly the best nozzle a girl (or boy) could own - it was my first ever nozzle and might be responsible for starting my obsession with making perfect swirl cupcakes... So, if you've never used it, get yourself down to my eBay shop and make the best little £3.45 investment ever!

Aeroplanes, Houses and Easter!

Well it's been a busy month and I've been inspired by lots of things for my latest new cupcake toppers!  Most of the crazy men I know love aeroplanes so I have finally given in to their requests and found a perfect cutter - it was fairly small on it's own on a yummy cupcake so I've made some cute clouds to go with them - I think the end result is pretty good so whoever's birthday is coming up will know what they're getting!

Some very dear friends of mine have recently moved into a new house so I searched everywhere to try and find something perfect for their housewarming cupcakes and came up with this:

The cupcakes looked adorable and I was really pleased with the end result!  I also used the fabulous grass nozzle to help create my easter themed cupcakes:

All toppers are now available from my eBay shop so you can make these gorgeous cakes yourself (and pretend you did all that work yourself ;0)

New Additions!

Anyone who makes cupcakes knows that it's the nicest thing in the world to have everything matching and perfect - especially if you're giving them as a gift or putting them on display at an event. So, with this in mind, over the next few days I'll be adding more items to our CakeyBake shop in the form of cupcake kits - sugarcraft toppers with matching cake cases and boxes... Let me know what you think - or if you have any other ideas for combinations you'd like to see!  We're also working on getting our CakeyBake website fully functioning as a shop so keep watching for updates!

New Toppers!

The new ebay shop is going really well and everyone seems to LOVE stars and hearts the most!! As a result of this I've launched some new toppers which are so lovely I used the whole first batch on my own cakes and had to make loads more! Here's some pictures...

I also designed some toppers for a friend who wanted them in the exact shade of a Tiffany's box! They were particularly pretty too so I've made a couple of kits with those colours - they look lovely on cupcakes - I suppose if you can't have Tiffany's then you can eat it!

We're busy making the video for our new cupcake kits this week so it won't be long until the launch of our fab new kits! Watch this space...

Cakeybake Launch!

Today is a very exciting day as we're launching our very first products on our eBay shop!  To begin with, we're launching handmade sugarcraft items for people to put on their cupcakes / cakes.  People always compliment my cupcakes and ask how I made them / what I use etc... Most people get put off making their own toppers because of the amount of equipment involved, so I figured this would be a great way for other people to cheat and make some great looking cakes with the minimum amount of effort and cost!

So, being as it's February and the month of all things love related, here's a couple of pictures of some love-heart cupcakes... Make your own with toppers from the Cakeybake Shop!
